Overview
Aero partnered with the Association of California Community College Administrators (ACCCA) to redesign and modernize their website and membership database. ACCCA is a key statewide organization supporting the leadership and professional development of administrators across California’s community college system. The project aimed to deliver a robust, user-friendly digital platform that would support ACCCA’s growing programs, events, and member services while simplifying administrative workflows through a deep integration with CiviCRM.
Challenge
ACCCA’s legacy website was outdated, difficult to navigate, and lacked the tools needed to manage a dynamic membership organization. Content was scattered, event registration and payment processing were handled through disconnected third-party tools, and the internal database did not support segmentation or self-service features for members. Although ACCCA was using CiviCRM, its implementation had become disjointed from the web experience, limiting its potential. Staff faced repetitive manual tasks, including reconciling CiviCRM data with other systems and processing new member enrollments by hand, which made growth increasingly difficult to sustain.
Our approach
We worked closely with ACCCA’s executive team to fully understand the organization’s structure, stakeholders, and programmatic needs. The new website was built on Drupal 10 and tightly integrated with CiviCRM, enabling a seamless experience between the public-facing site and backend member management. We customized CiviCRM’s contact types, event workflows, and contribution systems to align with ACCCA’s programs, while enabling self-service member portals for renewals, invoices, and registrations. Event management tools were rebuilt to fully leverage CiviCRM’s capabilities, including automated confirmations, group registration logic, and streamlined financial tracking. Throughout the project, we prioritized accessibility, mobile responsiveness, and long-term maintainability.
Results
The new ACCCA.org launched as a streamlined, modern platform that significantly improved both user experience and staff efficiency. CiviCRM is now fully embedded in the site architecture, empowering ACCCA staff with powerful tools for managing members, payments, communications, and events. Members can easily manage their accounts, update profiles, register for programs, and access member-only resources. Staff workflows have been automated and centralized within CiviCRM, reducing redundant data entry and manual reconciliation. The organization is now positioned for long-term growth with a digital platform that reflects the professionalism and vitality of the ACCCA community it serves.
