Founded in 1960 by Nicholas Forell and Eric Elsesser, Forell Elsesser Structural Engineers is a San Francisco-based firm at the forefront of structural and earthquake engineering. For over six decades, they have been one of the most active and respected firms in the Western U.S., delivering innovative, customized solutions across a diverse range of projects.

challenge

Forell Elsesser came to Aero Design many years ago for support, hosting, and upgrades for their WordPress website. Most recently, they asked Aero to help them re-imagine their website and enable them to post some of the thousands of high-resolution project photographs they have accumulated together with background about each structural engineering project.

our solution

We worked with Forell Elsesser to create a visually stunning platform to emphasize the incredible variety of challenging projects they have completed over many years. The home page features project drone video footage that enables users to view these buildings from an amazing vantage point.

To enhance the user experience while also increasing security for the website, we decided to leverage the React front-end that pulls content from a WordPress back-end. Forell Elsesser staff, who are very used to the user-friendly WordPress Dashboard interface strongly preferred to continue using this CMS.

results

The website, launched in 2024, has been a resounding success. It has become a wonderful and much more powerful tool for Forell Elsesser's marketing team to use in promoting their incredibly sophisticated services. The website's project list has grown dramatically and now features only high-resolution photography.
